Here's your 2024 Week No. 5 spring season nominees for Athlete of the Week, sponsored by Larson Ford.

  • Congrats to the Week No. 4 winner Matt Avivi from the Manalapan boys lacrosse! The junior got 80.65% of the votes.

  • Congrats to the Week No. 3 winner Sadie Honig from the Manalapan girls track and field team! The junior got 2,027 votes which was 91.80% of the votes.

  • Congrats to the Week No. 2 winner Emily Zellman from the Southern Regional softball team! The sophomore got 1,933 votes which was 86.84% of the votes.

  • Congrats to the Week No. 1 winner Nicole Knox from the Red Bank Catholic softball team! The junior had 3,510 votes which was 97.88% of the votes.

Nominees:

Brandon Kunz, Manasquan, Jr. - Boys Lacrosse: The Lehigh University commit's four goals in the Warriors 7-4 win over Rumson-Fair Haven helped snap a five-year unbeaten streak the Bulldogs had in conference play.

Ella Tortorici, Barnegat, Fr. - Girls Lacrosse: The underclassman helped the Bengals stay unbeaten at the time with three goals, three ground balls, and two forced turnovers in a road win over Wall on Thursday.

Lily Hagan, Red Bank Catholic, Jr. - Softball: She had 10 RBI's in four games and had nine strikeouts as a pitcher in a win over undefeated Weehawken while also hitting a home run.

Brent Romano, Howell, Sr. - Boys Volleyball: In a win over Holmdel, he had 25 kills, five digs, and three blocks on Wednesday.

Christian Suarez, Wall, So. - Baseball: He pitched seven innings and struck out seven batters, and only allowed three hits in a 1-0 win over Raritan.

Ella Mason, Rumson-Fair Haven, Sr. - Flag Football: Mason threw five touchdowns on Wednesday in a 36-32 win over Keansburg.

Aiden Falduto, Pinelands, Sr. - Boys Tennis: He won his singles match (6-0, 6-2) to help his team get a 5-0 win over Barnegat.

Alexandra Scott, St. John Vianney, Sr. - Girls Track and Field: She finished first in the 400 meter hurdles finals with a time of 1:00:88 at the Monmouth County Relay Championships.

Josh Huisman, St. Rose, Sr. - Boys Track and Field: Became a Monmouth County champion after finishing first place at the shot put throw competition.

Matt Gaydos, Freehold Township, Sr. - Boys Golf: He helped the Patriots advance in the NJSIAA sectional tournaments on a tie-breaker by having the lowest score among the No. 5 players, the seniorshot 83.

Yasmeen Muhammad, Barnegat, Sr. - Girls Golf: The senior finished first at the Bey Lea Golf Course on Thursday and shot 39.
