It's time to take a look at the standout performers from Section V.

Your vote will determine who will be the Advantage Federal Credit Union's Girls Sports Athlete of the Week for May 6-12. The players' credentials are listed above the poll — which will be live until 8 p.m. Tuesday. The winner will be announced on our Instagram page Wednesday morning.

All athletes who play on Section V girls teams are eligible to be nominated.

Madison Beardsley

Irondequoit junior threw three touchdowns passes as the Eagles moved past Churchville-Chili in the Section V Girls Flag Football Class A Tournament.

Malia Brown

A junior on the Newark girls flag football team, she threw four touchdown passes and scored a touchdown at the end of a run while the Reds defeated Young Women's Prep.

JaKayla Costello

Edison Tech junior scored a touchdown on a pass play that covered 30 yards and pulled 13 flags, the equivalent of a tackle in flag football, during the team's Section V tournament game. The Inventors lost to Gates Chili.

Taialise Davila

School of the Arts' senior pitcher was named MVP of the RCAC championship game, helping the Silver Hawks defeat Franklin 16-2 in five innings Saturday. Davila struck out four batters and hit a walk-off two-run inside-the-park home run that ended the game via the run rule.

Reagan Diehl

The Pal-Mac senior had nine total points (6 goals, 3 assists) in the Red Raiders’ win over East Aurora. Diehl enters this week with 34 goals on the season.

Paige Harding

A pole vaulter in her junior year on the Oakfield-Alabama/Elba outdoor track and field team, she jumped 11 feet-1 inch at the Victor Invitational. No one among girls in Section V has jumped higher this season.

Brynn Henry

Aquinas’ freshman, listed on defense, totaled 18 draw controls with 2 goals and 3 assists in the Lil Irish’s victory over the Greece Storm. It’s the second time in three games Henry has reached double digits in draw controls.

Jhani Higgins

Gates Chili senior pulled seven flags, the equivalent of a tackle, five behind the line of scrimmage and had a five-yard touchdown run as the Spartans won a Section V tournament pre-quarterfinal game.

Amber Kohlmeier

Webster Schroeder's softball star's bases-loaded walk-off single led to a come-from-behind 4-3 win over Fairport on Wednesday. Kohlmeier had two hits and scored a run.

Anais Martinez

A junior on the Franklin/Northeast/School of the Arts, World of Inquiry outdoor track and field team, this sprinter ran the second-fastest 400-meter race in Section V this season (57.86 seconds). She also won the 200 dash during the Gates Chili Invitational.

Kalli Meyer

The Gananda/Marion softball star's walk-off two-run home run led to a 6-5 win over Lyons on May 6.

Lundyn McCutchen

Spencerport senior caught two touchdowns passes and ran for another touchdown as the Rangers defeated Fairport during the Section V Girls Flag Football Class A Tournament.

Kaylee Oswald

Wellsville junior threw a discus 121 feet-5 inches, the second-longest distance of the outdoor track season in Section V, during her school's Spring Day Invitational.

Ari Reback

Fairport senior, a standout distance runner in Section V track and field, finished a 2,000-meter steeplechase at the Loucks Games in 7:20.71, the area's second-fastest of the season.

Peyton Rothfuss

Penfield’s sophomore finished with 8 goals, 3 assists and 19 draw controls as the Patriots earned a pair of wins in Monroe County conference play. Rothfuss enters this week fourth in Section V with 97 draw controls.

Haylie Smith

Rush-Henrietta junior remains on a strong run in Section V outdoor track and field, as she again lowered the area's best 1,500-meter race time (4:42.24) during the Victor Invitational. The eight fastest races of the season were run during the weekend.
