Ever since Peyton Manning retired, the Denver Broncos have struggled to find a legitimate replacement at quarterback. However, for the first time in a long time, the franchise is hopeful that it could be a potential playoff team once again.

During the Broncos’ season opener on Sunday, veteran quarterback Teddy Bridgewater completed 28-of-36 passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. He constantly kept plays alive and made some incredibly throws in the second half.

Toward the end of the fourth quarter, Broncos pass rusher Von Miller went over to Bridgewater on the sideline to share some words of encouragement. It’s very apparent that Bridgewater’s leadership – on and off the field – inspired the rest of the team.

“I haven’t felt that in a while – since 18 was here man,” Miller told Bridgewater. “Keep with that s***. Those little pep talks go a long way, you what I’m saying? We need that s***. We haven’t had that in a minute.”

The Broncos have always had a serviceable defense under head coach Vic Fangio. Their offense, meanwhile, has been subpar to say the least.

If last weekend’s performance against the Giants was any indication of how this season will be for the Broncos, they might finally have an offense capable of winning a few games on their own.

We’ll see if the Broncos can stay hot this weekend when they take on the Jaguars.
