'The Voice' voters put USM grad Karen Waldrup through to the semifinals. Who else made it?

After her stellar performance Monday on "The Voice" live playoffs, University of Southern Mississippi alumna Karen Waldrup was no doubt ready for Tuesday's next stage of the competition, but her fate was in the hands of the show's fans.

Waldrup dazzled viewers with her passionate rendition of Lee Ann Womack's "I Hope You Dance," which filled the stage with powerful emotion.

Voters clearly felt that emotion and with their votes put Waldrup through to the semifinals, joining seven of her fellow contestants. In addition to the top eight, the audience and app voters were able to pick one more to round out the nine who would compete on next week's show.

Judges Reba McEntire and John Legend performed during the night's events, and once the final eight contestants were chosen by voters, the remaining four hand one more opportunity to stay in the game. They each performed a song in hopes of winning the instant save to become the last one moving on in the competition.
