Virgin River is getting fans excited about the upcoming two-part holiday special with a cute snap of its protagonist couple.

Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson (aka Mel Monroe and Jack Sheridan) posed on set rocking red outfits, with the American Horror Story star also donning a pair of reindeer antlers. Meanwhile, Jack's Bar, aptly jazzed up for the festive season, can be seen in the background.

"Halloween's ghosting, but is it too soon for some Christmas toasting?" the caption reads, confirming the special will land on Netflix on November 30.

While the show's fifth season ended on a dark note with Wes's body being discovered, it seems the Christmas two-parter will lift everyone's spirits.

Mel and Jack will have some cosy, Christmassy time, but the specials will also see them trying to track down her biological father "from clue to clue", as executive producer Patrick Sean Smith explained.

"The holiday episodes are a little bit lighter, and we wanted to play a little more comedy after the weight of this season," he told Glamour, promising a "packed" Christmas special touching on all characters' lives.

"It felt like, if we're going to give a holiday gift to the audience, let's make it a fun one."

Meanwhile, Netflix has greenlit a sixth season of the show and it seems the writers' room is already in full swing. Last month, the show's writing team posed for two selfies, confirming a new chapter is officially underway.

"Thrilled to have our writing team back in action, diving into season 6!" the Instagram post was captioned.

Virgin River seasons 1-5 are streaming now on Netflix, while the holiday specials drop on November 30.
