'Virgin River' Alums Reunite for New Christmas Movie, 'Dial S for Santa'

It's hard to believe that the new Christmas movies are winding down. What started for some networks back in October, new Christmas movies filled our weekends with plenty of holiday fare. In one of the last new movies for UPtv, Dial S for Santa reunites a pair of Virgin River alum.

What is Dial S for Santa about?

When insurance investigator Lana Lawton (Sarah Dugdale) returns home for Christmas, her only goal is to spend time with her mom, Ginnie (Lynda Boyd), and cheer up her nephew, Ryan (Yuriy Pokrovskyy), who is upset that his military father won’t make it home for Christmas.

When she arrives, however, she discovers that a string of robberies along Main Street has shop owners scratching their heads over who could have done it. Seeing her chance to earn a big promotion by doing some real P.I. work, Lana puts all of her efforts into trying to solve the case by any means necessary.

Now, with Christmas Eve approaching and her suspect list narrowing, Lana must convince Nick (Julian Haig), the police chief, to let her help on the investigation. As the pair start spending more and more time together on the case, they begin to see each other as more than co-investigators. Can Lana and Nick solve the case in time for Christmas and will Lana’s lead suspect disappear on Christmas with a sleigh full of stolen goods? It may take a lot of faith and a good bit of Christmas magic for a happily ever after!

The film also stars Mark Humphrey (When Calls the Heart, Firefly Lane) and Eric Gustafsson (Helstrom, Heartland)

Meet the cast of Dial S for Santa

Sarah Dugdale (Lana)

Best known for her role as Lizzie on Virgin River, Dugdale has appeared in The Bad Seed, Death of a Cheerleader, and the Mystery 101 movies on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.

Julian Haig (Nick)

Haig comes from an artistic family. The Australian native can boast a screen writer father, an artist mother, and a fellow actor sister.  He has guest starred on Riverdale, Arrow, and Lucifer.

Lynda Boyd (Ginnie)

Boyd has appeared in a variety of television and film projects including series cast roles on Virgin River, Republic of Doyle, and Tin Star. Most recently she has appeared on Sullivan's Crossing, Family Law, and Supergirl.
