This Viral Video Shows You How to Prevent Drippy Pour Spills

TikTok has been having a field YEAR throughout quarantine. Everyone stuck at home is looking for new recipes, hacks and handy tips for around the house. From an easy way to hang up Christmas lights to garlic peeling hacks, it’s the place to go to if you want to make your life just a little bit easier.

With this latest hack, they’ve solved one of our biggest problems—how do you keep liquids from dripping down the side of the counter after pouring? The obvious solution, of course, would be to use a measuring cup with a spout (like the Pyrex measuring cup mentioned on this list of our favorite baking supplies) but sometimes you don’t have one handy.

So how can you pour from a bowl without spilling?

TikTok user @andrew_gatt has the simplest solution to this problem. He suggests that instead of pouring the liquid into your dish and then setting it right back down, simply rotate your dish a full 360° before turning it upright again. You can see how in this video:

And voila—as you can see, no more drippy mess. One savvy commenter also suggested scraping the eggs out of the bowl with a spatula to prevent any waste. So there you go—we might have to break some eggs to make an omelet, but you can bet we won’t be spilling any of them!
