This Viral Video Shows You Exactly How to Make Toaster Grilled Cheese

Now that it’s pumpkin spice and sweater season, we’re excited to start making cool-weather foods. There’s nothing like an ooey-gooey grilled cheese on a chilly day! There’s a catch, though—what if you want this iconic dish, but don’t have a stove?

Never fear, because TikTok, perhaps the best source of culinary experimentation right now, is here to answer your food-related questions. It turns out toaster grilled cheese is a real thing, and like all the other TikTok hacks, it’s beyond convenient.

How to Make Toaster Grilled Cheese

It’s remarkably similar to making toast—the only difference is, you’ll put cheese on the top of the bread. You also want to turn your toaster on its side (if you kept it straight up, all you’d produce is a mess). From there, just toast the bread as usual, with the side with the cheese slice facing up. When it’s done, gently press the two slices together. Boom! Instant grilled cheese.

Psst: We tried the TikTok breakfast sandwich hack, and here’s what happened.

Keep Your Toaster Clean

Yes, making things like toaster grilled cheese is on our list of common toaster mistakes. That’s not to say it can’t be done—but be sure the toaster is on its side, and use only one slice of cheese per slice of bread. Then, when you’re done with lunch, check to see if your toaster needs a deep-clean.
