We love a good '70s throwback, and halter necklines are definitely it. Over the past few weeks, we've spotted several celebrities rocking the retro-inspired trend, with no signs of stopping. Michelle Monaghan and Julianne Hough both wore a version of the halter to the 21st Annual Elle Women in Hollywood Celebration, while earlier this month, Jessica Chastain and Emmy Rossum each wore the look for appearances on late night television.

The late Oscar de la Renta was one of many designers to show the halter neck for spring. Chloe, Gucci, and Altuzarra were also on board. Unlike some trends, the halter neck can be universally flattering, and can take on many forms -- there's not just one way to wear it! We suggest trying it this fall as a dress, jumpsuit, or top. Click through the gallery to see our full report on the trend.
