The trend report: Wear your blanket as a coat
Once Burberry sent those blanket coats (you know, the ones Cara and Suki rocked outside the show after the final walk) down the runway, we knew they were going to be big this fall. An oversize, wooly, comfy cape-like thing doubling as outwear? Sign us up, and take our tailored pea coats with you, please.
Olivia Palermo was spotted in NYC recently wearing that exact Burberry blanket coat, and you know once Olivia wears something,the next step is the fashion bloggers and street style stars -- and we're bound to start copying these exact looks. Why she was walking the streets of steamy NYC in a glorified blanket in the middle of summer is probably another story (though we hear it was for a photoshoot!).
Chloe hopped on the blanket coat bandwagon early (in fact, we kind of want to say the Chloe pre-fall 2014 show started the whole trend), with a few really cool, blanket/cape/poncho-type pieces. Here's Elena Perminova rocking her Chloe blanket coat like a street style boss:
