The Public School designers reveal their favorite collaboration (so far)

In 2013, Dao-Yi Chow and Maxwell Osborne, founders of Public School, won the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund -- an endowment set up to support the next generation of American fashion designers. This award, along with Public School's cult-like following, has propelled them into the spotlight with the help and support of their CFDA mentors -- including Anna Wintour, who the guys refer to casually as 'Anna'. They've even revealed that they can 'email Anna and literally in 2 minutes, she'll respond'. Talk about some serious connections!

As a part of their winning the Fashion Fund Award, J.Crew teamed up with the designer duo for a capsule collection -- an unusual pairing, since Public School collections are mainly streetwear, while J.Crew's biggest audience is, well, not exactly street. However, the boys applied their cool, city-chic looks into minimal separates, which have been hugely successful at J.Crew.

This hasn't been the only collaboration Dao-Yi and Maxwell have worked on. They've teamed up with Nike to release a limited-edition Jordan sneaker. They've also collaborated with Killspencer on a chic matte weekender bag, but when asked their favorite, the duo replied, "We couldn't pick one if we had to because they are all so special to us. CFDA gave us a launching pad, which led to the collaboration with J. Crew. All of them are favored."

Whatever collaborations come next for these rising stars, the fashion-world will be watching. Click on the gallery above to see what they've done so far and of course, a few pieces you can shop from their own solo collection.
