Seven new street-style stars to watch this season
Nominated by Vanessa Jackman

“I first photographed Marte back in March 2012 at Paris Fashion Week. It was a really horrible cold, wet, and windy winter’s day, and almost everyone was wearing black or heavy dark colors. Marte, however, had on these supercute green printed pants and a leather jacket—she looked cool (as most models invariably do!), but also slightly quirky. I took her photograph again in February this year, and it is my favorite photo from all of the fashion weeks. I love that she is a keen photographer as well!”
Nominated by Sandra Semburg

“I spotted the Norwegian stylist Hege at the shows in Paris a couple of years ago. The weather was still gorgeous, and she was wearing the ultimate cool summer outfit: a distressed denim skirt by Acne with a white blouse and pumps. I love the Scandinavian girls for their classic, simple style. Their look can skew quite sporty, too, but Hege always looks really feminine.”
Nominated by Tamu McPherson

“I find Miki Zanini’s style to be very fresh and sophisticated. I met her during the Men’s spring 2012 shows in Milan outside of Jil Sander; she was with her brother Marco Zanini of Rochas. I’ve seen her around Milan a lot recently and can’t wait to shoot her again.”
Nominated by Jason Jean

“The first time I saw Ceylan was about two years ago outside a Barbara Bui show in Paris. Seemingly quiet, it was her elegance that grabbed my attention. She doesn’t try too hard and feels very comfortable in what she wears. And who doesn’t love someone who can rock a short hairstyle like this?”
Nominated by Craig Arend

“I shot Manon during her rookie season outside of Rochas a year ago. I like her use of eye-catching accessories; she often carries a camera or a colorful belt or scarf.”
Nominated by Candice Lake

“I met her in Paris when we were wearing coordinating outfits and kept getting photographed together! Leila is such a natural beauty who is not afraid to wear lots of color or a really bold look, which is a killer combination.”
Nominated by Phil Oh

“I first noticed Chiara at the Roberto Cavalli show in Milan maybe two seasons ago. She had on one of the standout Miu Miu leather jackets, and I loved the way she dressed it down a bit with a gray jersey tee slouchily tucked into denim, along with a gray knit beanie. I like the way she mixes noticeable designer pieces with supercasual items, and her style and demeanor has a bit of the tomboy thing going on.”

With New York Fashion Week upon us, all eyes are set for the runway. Yet there are those whose focus will hit squarely at street level, on the ever-growing flock of well-dressed women lined up before the shows. We asked seven street-style photographers to nominate the new faces they'll be zooming in on this season.
