Getting ready for holiday vacation requires not only expert outfit-selecting skills, but expert packing skills as well. And with each type of excursion comes a different type of wardrobe and packing techniques. Ringing in the new year in a big city is what most of us dream of! The lights, the music, the people; metropolitan jet setting can be quite glamorous this time of year. Whether it's Paris, Los Angeles, or New York City that's calling your name, there are a few wardrobe essentials that every girl needs to look her chicest self. A few items on our list: comfortable walking flats, a satin blazer, and glittery pumps, to name a few. The most important thing to remember, especially when headed somewhere where you will be wearing your fanciest of clothing items, is knowing how to pack those items that are going to keep you looking absolutely fabulous. A few tips and tricks to follow if you are headed somewhere metropolitan: Outfits Together: Pack your outfits for each occasion and day together. This will reduce rummaging through your suitcase, and make dressing time quicker to get you out the door earlier to that museum or bistro lunch you have on your itinerary. Invest In Tissue Paper When packing delicate items, it is best to wrap silks, chiffons, and beaded materials in tissue paper to protect them from snagging against other items in your suitcase. Give 'Em A Little Cushion Consider every item in your suitcase a tool. See those soft socks and sweaters? Pack your hanging clothes – aka the clothes that wrinkle easiest – between sweaters and socks to softly pad them. Get breaking news and big stories on your desktop.
