OK guys. I think we all know by now that Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge (that's Kate Middleton, BTW) can do a classic look better than anyone. This ponytail she sported this week while on the royal tour in New Zealand, accompanied by an Alexander McQueen suit), is a perfect example.

The last time we thought we could pull off a ponytail like this, it was probably 4th grade soccer practice. Duchess Kate, however, shows us how it's done. The trick to this pony is making sure it's not too high -- otherwise, we're verging on juvenile territory here. Though you can't see it in this photo, Kate also has hair wrapped around the part where the ponytail holder should be -- we love our Emi-Jays, but royal affairs probably don't call for casual accessories.

We don't know about you, but we're eager to test out this classic hair look for spring. For more celeb hair we love, click through the gallery.
