Lauren Bacall's Manhattan home is up for sale
In August, 89-year-old actress Lauren Bacall passed away in New York City and now, her NYC home is officially on the market. Bacall, who lived in a sprawling apartment facing Central Park purchased the apartment in 1969 for $48,000. Today, Bacall's home went on the market for a whopping $26 million!
The expansive home is located in the Dakota building on the Upper West Side. It's the same building where John Lennon was killed in 1980 and was the home to many famous faces including Judy Garland, Gilda Radner and more. The building is also notorious for rejecting famous faces including Madonna, Alex Rodriquez, Judd Apatow, and Cher.
Inside the home are countless prized possessions including her extensive art collection, some of which is set to be auctioned off in later this month. Bacall was an avid collector and reportedly housed pieces by Pablo Picasso, Alexander Calder, sculptures and more. According to the Daily Mail, items from her apartment are expected to be sold by the estate bringing in more than $3 million.
Bacall left behind three children, Sam, Leslie and Steven, and six grandchildren.
