It's safe to say that Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge, has been carefully planning out her wardrobe for the upcoming royal tour, but while her outfits are being kept under wraps, we now know she'll be wearing some impressive jewels. US Weeklyreports that Queen Elizabeth has allowed Kate to "raid" her jewelry collection in preparation for the trip. With no black tie or formal events planned, we're not expecting to see any tiaras (try not to cry!), but there will definitely be opportunities to wear something sparkly.

Though the tour is largely informal, Kate and William are set to attend 48 engagements. Kate will have up to 30 outfit changes before the trip is over -- so naturally, the chance to wear some beautiful pieces! After all, an outfit is never complete without a little something extra. And according to Us Weekly's source, the Duchess "has been allowed to pick out as many items as she needs." Um, jackpot!

Kate has reportedly been working with the Queen's personal dresser, Angela Kelly, on her wardrobe and will be wearing a good mix of clothes off the rack (tailored, of course) as well as custom designs. We expect she'll wear many designers that hail from Australia and New Zealand, but also represent her favorite British labels.

The Queen has quite the selection of brooches and other jewels that have particular ties to Australia and New Zealand, perfect for dressing up one of Kate's outfits. A blog dedicated to Kate's style, HRH Duchess Kate, has a great list of the jewels she thinks the Duchess may borrow and their significance.

The Duchess of Cambridge isn't one to typically wear lots of bling -- aside from that stunner she borrowed from the Queen recently -- so we'll be interested to see just how much she chooses to bring along. We will see when April rolls around! In the meantime, click through the gallery above to see Kate's best looks!
