Take a glance at nearly any front-row or street-style shot these days and there's one accessory that just about everyone is clutching: a cell phone. From the days of those brick-sized contraptions-from the Nokia Razr flip phone, to the T-Mobile Sidekick, to the BlackBerry, and then to the nearly global conversion to the Apple iPhone-it's become the item we can't live without. (Just take a look around you at a runway show as the lights are dimmed before the final walk-it's an epidemic of cell phones in the air.)
How fitting that Apple is set to host a catwalk show this afternoon at its big product launch in Cupertino, where the tech giant will be revealing its new wearable tech product and the iPhone 6 in front of top fashion editors and bloggers. In honor of the newest iteration of the iPhone, we take a look back at some of our favorite fashion insiders over the years as they call, text, tweet, shoot selfies, or do whatever they were doing before Instagram existed. Did it really happen if it wasn't Instagrammed? Apparently, it did.
