In fact, she is quite the athlete herself. With her 5'11 frame, it comes as no surprise that she played basketball throughout high school. This past February, she played in the Sprint NBA All-Star celebrity game.
You would never guess, but she is a self-proclaimed nerd and regularly participated in her high school Science Fair.
Before her modeling career took off, her plan was to attend medical school. She has said that she wanted to become a veterinarian or deliver babies.
She was scouted in South Beach when she was touring the University of Miami. She was only sixteen at the time.
She is dating Felix Bloxsom, also known as DJ Plastic Plates. In a 2011 interview, before the two coupled up, Heatherton said that Plastic Plates was her favorite DJ.
Heatherton's BFF is VS model, Lily Aldridge. They are so close that Heatherton is actually the godmother to Aldridge's daughter, Dixie.
Heatherton has a passion for interior design. She has designed her entire apartment and loves to reupholster inexpensive finds.
Because she didn't pursue her dream of becoming a doctor, Heatherton wants to help people in other ways. She is involved with The Global Poverty Project and the Cotton On Foundation which gives money to impoverished communities in Uganda. Heatherton is not just another pretty face.
