Duchess Kate is pretty in powder pink for Commonwealth Day
Princess Kate is pretty in pink! The Duchess of Cambridge joined the rest of the royal family at Westminster Abbey today in celebration of Commonwealth Day. The service, which is always celebrated on the 2nd Monday in March, is to recognize and celebrate the 52 countries that fall into the Commonwealth, the richness and diversity they each lend.
This year is particularly close to William and Kate's hearts, as it celebrates the youth within the Commonwealth, and how they can foster the future. "We are guardians of a precious flame," The Queen said in her address, "and it is our duty not only to keep it burning brightly but to keep it replenished for the decades ahead."
Arriving with Prince William, the 8-month pregnant Duchess was wearing Alexander McQueen, the same powder pink coat she chose for the Trooping the Colour ceremony in 2013, which was her final appearance before welcoming Prince George that summer. She was positively glowing, with her hair pulled back in a half-up style.
Duchess Kate paired the look with a brand new hat by milliner Jane Taylor, a pair of pale pink drop earrings by Kiki McDonough, a pink satin Prada clutch and matching Prada heels.
