Duchess Kate goes full-glamour in diamonds, emeralds and Jenny Packham
It's their final night in New York City, and Kate Middleton, Duchess of Cambridge and Prince William decided to go out with a bang. Their most glamorous event of the three-day trip, the royals tonight attended a 600th Anniversary dinner for their alma mater, St. Andrews University, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
Arriving a little after 7pm, William and Kate walked the steps of the Met -- with a quick pause as William turned to wave to the crowd, joined then by Kate to huge cheers -- and those hoping to see the royals don their black tie best were not disappointed. The Duchess chose to recycle a deep teal Jenny Packham gown that we have seen twice before, shortly after she'd returned to official royal duties in October 2013 and then again at the National Portrait Gala, paired with the Queen's necklace.
This time, however, Kate chose to wear her hair up (which we'll always approve of!) to show off a new pair of diamond and emerald earrings. They're said to be a private gift with a matching bracelet, and they're truly show-stopping.
The Jenny Packham gown (which retails for £3,125 but is currently on sale for £1,597 or about $2,500 -- a steal!) has a high waistline, low back, and long, flowing skirt. When you've found a dress that works when you aren't pregnant and when you're 5 months pregnant... you've found a winner!
