The Dos and Don'ts Keep that Perfect Summer Glow Going

Use cold water. We know it sounds awful in the winter, but try reducing the temperature of your daily showers and ending each one with a blast of cold water. Cold water closes your pores and locks in moisture, leading to brighter skin and shinier hair.

Drink water. Lots of it. Staying hydrated helps keep your skin moisturized.

Keep your face moisturized and protected from the sun. Sometimes, you have to go with the long-term benefit, and in the long run your skin will look more sun-kissed if it's healthy. During the day use a light moisturizer like a href=" \">Oil of Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturizer SPF 15. Keep peach and pink makeup and bright manicures in your rotation to brighten your skin. Chanel Glossimer in Amour is the perfect gloss in the prettiest shade.

We've been begging for fall temperatures for weeks. But now that there's finally a crisp in the air, we can't help but feel a twinge of longing for the summer sun, especially our slowly fading summer glow. Have no fear; it is possible to maintain a healthy bronzed look throughout the winter months. That being said, please remember that unless you've just returned from a tropical vacation, no one expects you to look like your summer self. Keep it subtle, not Snooki.

Hint - and you may not like it - but hot showers may be ruining it all!
