Did you see the crystal face masks at Givenchy spring 2014? They took 12 HOURS to apply.
About a quarter of the models went through a transformation involving crystals, sequins, and netting. According to Vogue Paris, it took 12 hours to create the looks. McGrath herself Instagrammed (with a lot of hashtags) that it took "40 pairs of hands."
Riccardo Tisci was inspired by Japanese and African elements for the spring collection, and the faux masks reflect that-they're a sort of Kabuki-tribal mash-up. There's something really eerie about the look, and I'm sorely tempted to try it for Halloween, though it might scare my entire family.
The biggest question on my mind, though, was: How did the models get it all off their faces? Lais Ribeiro posted an Instagram video about the process: "After 5 hours doing makeup, look how easily came out."
