CFDA Awards 2013 in Pictures: Who Wore What

Wearing: Vintage Chanel

Verdict: Tory looked stunning in this vibrant gown. A hit in our book.

Wearing: Cushnie Et Ochs

Verdict: Ashley completed the look perfectly with her bright white pumps.

Wearing: Her own design

Verdict: The designer looked great in this leggy LBD.

Wearing: The Row

Verdict: The dress has a nice simple silhouette, but we could do without the fluffy red shoes.

Wearing: Her own design

Verdict: This woman can do no wrong in our book.

Wearing: Naeem Khan

Verdict: Though not our absolute favorite of the night, we do love its metallic accents.

Wearing: Kaufmanfranco

Verdict: Ambrosio looked lovely in this simple white sheath with asymmetrical lines.

Wearing: Yigal Azrouël

Verdict: We love the subtle pattern of the dress and little bits of sheer fabric here and there.

Wearing: Her own design

Verdict: The designer looked lovely in this slate grey dress, but it's a good thing she wore black pants underneath -- that's quite a slit!

Wearing: Houndstooth jacket and floral skirt

Verdict: We could do without the fur trim on the jacket, but Anna looked classic as ever.

Wearing: Custom Todd Snyder

Verdict: Quinto looked sharp, there was no doubt about it.

Wearing: Helmut Lang

Verdict: The jury is out on this black and white dress for us, but we're loving the heels.

Wearing: Givenchy

Verdict: After many over-the-top (though amazing) gowns at the Met Gala, it's intriguing to see a simple strapless sheath for Chastain.

Wearing: Suno top and midi skirt, Jimmy Choo heels

Verdict: Hailey rocked this crop top and midi-length skirt, with a fun bright pattern.

Wearing: Dolce & Gabbana

Verdict: Mara looked pretty in this cocktail-length dress, but it wasn't a showstopper to us.

Wearing: Dennis Basso

Verdict: Between the metallic lace embellishments and the '20s-inspired fringe skirt, this dress is a home run.

Wearing: Calvin Klein Collection

Verdict: Mara looked stunning, with peek-a-boo cut outs showing a little skin here and there.

Wearing: Her own design

Verdict: While it's not our favorite, Malandrino certainly rocked it!

Wearing: Givenchy

Verdict: This dress is definitely a miss for us -- with the nude sheer of the skirt, the trim along the bottom looks a little like she dragged her hem in the mud!

Wearing: Michael Kors

Verdict: Not only does each woman look stunning in her own ensemble, but the trio matches so perfectly that all eyes were on them.

Wearing: Thakoon dress, Salvatore Ferragamo pumps

Verdict: Byrne looked pretty in this sparkling sequin and lace dress, but we're not so sure how the pumps fit into the equation.

Wearing: Jason Wu

Verdict: The simplicity of this dress makes the pop of vibrant yellow that much more divine.

Wearing: The Row (Elizabeth), vintage Issey Mikyake (Mary-Kate)

Verdict: We were surprised that we didn't see Ashley standing next to her twin, but loved the choices of these fashionable sisters.

Wearing: Her own design

Verdict: While we like the simplicity of this dress, it just doesn't do much for Karan's figure.

Wearing: Zac Posen

Verdict: The color is pretty, but this dress is not our favorite.

Wearing: Marc Jacobs

Verdict: This dress looked like liquid gold, and Richie was gorgeous in it.

Wearing: David Meister Signature

Verdict: Baldwin looked red hot in this gown with its deep-v neckline.

Wearing: Rachel Roy

Verdict: Jessica shows off her toned abs in this cut-out white bodysuit.  She paired it with a funky patterned skirt.

Wearing: Prabal Gurung

Verdict: The sweetness of the white and floral of the dress was give a bit of edge with black accessories and strappy heels.

Wearing: Givenchy

Verdict: Smalls looked beautiful in this simple white strapless gown, and the jewels along her collar were the perfect touch.

Wearing: Custom Rebecca Minkoff

Verdict: We're obsessed with everything about this look -- from the vibrant hue to the peplum and funky accessories.

Wearing: Alexander Wang

Verdict: The sheer piping of this dress is risque yet tasteful, and Wasson looks stunning.

Wearing: Proenza Schouler

Verdict: Kerr is constantly towards the top of our best dressed lists, and she stays there with this fun vibrant dress.

Wearing: Hervé L. Leroux dress, Lorraine Schwartz jewelry

Verdict: Vergara looked lovely in this emerald gown, and it fit her to a t.

Wearing: Sheer black

Verdict: This dress is a miss. it seems Jemima could have shown up in just the black body suit, with all that the rest of the fabric is doing (or mostly not doing) for her.

Known as the Oscars of Fashion, the CFDA Awards were on in full force last night. Fashion designers flock to New York and with them come a bevy of gorgeous stars dressed head-to-toe in their designs.

Like the Met Gala, it is one of the biggest nights in fashion, sometimes called the real "Fashion's Night Out." One of our favorite designers (and everyone else's favorite too...) Oscar de la Renta was awarded the Eleanor Lambert Founders Award -- and even better, he was given the award by Hillary Clinton.

Ralph Lauren presented the Geoffrey Beene Lifetime Achievement Award to Vera Wang. Phillip Lim won Accessory Designer of the Year for 3.1 Phillip Lim, while Menswear Designer of the Year went to Thom Browne and Womenswear Designer of the Year went to Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez of Proenza Schouler.

Now, we wouldn't be covering an event without covering the red carpet, so we rounded up the best (and a few not-so-great) dressed of the star-studded evening. From Jessica Chastain's simple black Givenchy to Nicole Richie's shimmering Marc Jacobs, click through the gallery above to see the best of the best.
