Barneys' Spring 2015 campaign is an epic supermodel reunion
The term "supermodel" is thrown around pretty loosely these days, but Barneys New York managed to round up 10 bona fide industry icons for its latest ad campaign - including a few who have been in the game since the '70s.
Models Bethann Hardison (who recently won a CFDA Award for her work with the Diversity Coalition), Brooke Shields, Christie Brinkley, Elaine Irwin, Kiara Kabukuru, Kirsten Owen, Pat Cleveland, Stephanie Seymour Brant, Susanne Bartsch and Veronica Webb traveled down to Miami for a shoot with the legendary Bruce Weber, who captured the ladies in a number of humorous situations - most of which feature very fit and scantily clad young men. The campaign, which is entitled "Better Than Ever," is a fantastic display of the diversity the industry has been craving as of late, featuring women and men of all ages, races and sizes. (The female models range in age from their late 30s to their mid-60s.) Plus, if seeing a dozen shirtless men worshipping Brinkley by the pool can't bring a smile to your face, we don't know what will.
We thought it would be impossible for Barneys to top its last Bruce Weber-lensed spring campaign, "Brothers, Sisters, Sons and Daughters" - which was composed of portraits of trensgender men and women posing among family and friends - but the retailer nailed it.
There's more info on the campaign -- which will be released in full next week -- over at Barneys's blog, The Window.
