Worst Over For Marathon Des Sables Competitors

An emotional Mohamad Ahansal is within touching distance of winning the Marathon des Sables for a fifth time after a strong showing on Wednesday (April 10) in the race's fourth and toughest stage. It was all to much for women's race Laurence Klein, who was forced to withdraw after suffering dehydration during the 75km run from Taourirt Mouchanne and El Mraier Djebel in Morocco's Sahara desert. That means America's Meghan Hicks now leads the women's standings.
