Women Are Using #MeToo to Share Assault Stories

Amid allegations of sexual harassment and rape against Harvey Weinstein, a social media hashtag emerged to encourage women to share their stories in hopes of shining light on just how widespread sexual assault and harassment are. The hashtag #metoo appeared all over Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram Sunday after actress Alyssa Milano posted a note on Twitter asking users to reply "me too" to her tweet if they'd "been sexually harassed or assaulted." Thousands of responses poured in.
