Washington Sues Florist for Refusing Gay Wedding

In an unprecedented move, the state is suing a florist for refusing to provide flowers for a gay couple’s wedding. The owner of Arlene’s Flowers in Richland, Barronelle Stutzman, said that she denied business to Robert Ingersoll and his partner on March 1 because of her religious beliefs. “I grabbed his hand (Ingersoll’s) and said, I am sorry I can’t do your wedding because of my relationship with Jesus Christ,” Stutzman said.
