An Indonesian volcano continued to spew out ash on Friday (January 17), forcing more residents to flee. The 2,460 meters high Mount Sinabung in North Sumatra province remained at its highest alert level. The government's alert status is still at its highest level, after violent eruptions in recent months from the volcano that has lain dormant for four centuries.
