Unmanned SpaceX Rocket Destroyed Shortly After Liftoff

An unmanned Falcon 9 rocket, built and launched by privately owned Space Exploration Technologies, was destroyed about two minutes after liftoff from Florida on Sunday (June 28), claiming a cargo ship bound for the International Space Station, NASA said. SpaceX, as the privately-owned company is known, is one of two firms hired by the U.S. space agency NASA to fly cargo to the station following the retirement of the space shuttles in 2011.
