Markets opened lower on Monday as President Trump escalated already-tense trade relations with China. Over the weekend, the president threatened to ban Chinese companies from investing in U.S. technology companies and curbing technology exports to China. The latest news comes as U.S. motorcycle maker Harley-Davidson announced plans to move some of its production outside of the U.S. to get around EU tariffs, one of the first signs of Trump's protectionist trade push negatively impacting American companies.
