A town declares an emergency following attacks by wolves. Wolf populations in a rural part of northeastern Russia’s Sakha Republic are dangerously high. Wolves have been raiding pastures in central Sakha, and migrating from their usual habitats in the forests and mountains of the region.Experts say this is due to a decline in the population of the wolves natural prey - the mountain hare, which has resulted in more wolf attacks on livestock like reindeer and horses.
