Sundance 2013: 'Fruitvale' Brings Oscar Grant's Story to Big Screen

'Fruitvale' was one of the first films to be bought by the Weinstein Company at Sundance 2013, at an rumored $2 million and change. The first feature film from writer/director Ryan Coogler, a former college football player, brings the tragic story of Oscar Grant to life. Grant, played by Michael B. Jordan, was shot at point-blank by a Bay area police officer in 2008, while handcuffed and weapon-less galvanizing protests. Check out VIBE's exclusive chat with 'Fruitvale''s filmmaker and cast.
