It’s official - men put the most effort into Valentine’s Day and may actually be more romantic than women, according to new research. A new Groupon survey found men are planning to spend twice as much as women this February 14th when it comes to spoiling their partner- dishing out $217 where women only plan to part with an average of $99. The study surveyed 1,000 Americans in relationships to see who puts in the most effort for Valentine’s Day. The research, which should serve as a wakeup call to anyone who still needs to buy their partner a gift, showed that men, those in newer relationships and married individuals gained the highest marks on the effort index. Groupon commissioned the data in celebration of its Love All Ways campaign running through Valentine’s Day and showcasing gifts for every stage and type of relationship.
