Gov. Dannel P. Malloy told his special commission on the Newtown massacre Thursday that its task is both critically important and extremely difficult -- part of it to find the balance between 2nd Amendment rights and public safety. The governor said he recognizes citizens' right to bear arms, but "that right cannot come at the expense of public safety."
