Man Rescues Everglades Gator from Python

Mike Kimmel, a professional Florida-based trapper, was near Everglades Holiday Park when he witnessed a 10-foot python preparing to kill and eat a 4-foot alligator. That’s when he stepped in and, in true badass form, held the python by the head until it released the gator. And that’s not all, y’all: this is the third gator in a year that Kimmel has rescued from a python. See, he’s a contractor for the South Florida Water Management District where he is responsible for removing pythons, which are invasive and non-native to the area. Pythons are a serious problem in the Everglades, Kimmel says; normal numbers of birds, deer, and other fauna haven’t been seen in years. Kimmel humanely euthanizes the reptiles before leaving the park. He also emphasizes that no part of the animal goes to waste. Have YOU ever had a run-in with a python?
