Kim Kardashian Gets Woman Free From Prison After White House Visit

Kim Kardashian has used her influence for good. One week after Kim visited the White House in an attempt to get clemency for Alice Marie Johnson, a 63-year-old first-time non-violent drug offender imprisoned for life, the President has pardoned Johnson. According to a report, the President signed off on the papers today and Johnson will soon be released from a correctional facility in Alabama. After their Oval Office meeting, the President released a photo alongside Kanye West‘s wife with the comment: “Great meeting with @KimKardashian today, talked about prison reform and sentencing.” In 1996, Johnson was convicted for involvement in a cocaine trafficking operation in Memphis, Tennessee. She was given a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Kim has made getting Johnson released from prison her mission ever since seeing an online video detailing the grandmother of six’s case. “I just really strongly believe that she is someone that has completely rehabilitated herself and will continue to do so outside of prison,” Kardashian told Mic earlier this year. “You know, she’s done her time.” Upon hearing of Johnson’s release, Kim tweeted: “BEST NEWS EVER!!!!” Looks like Kim could teach peeps a thing or two on how to successfully negotiate with the current President and not get trashed by him on Twitter.
