Gabrielle Giffords, the former U.S. congresswoman who was shot in the head while speaking with constituents in Arizona, told members of a Senate committee on Wednesday (January 30) that too many children have died in gun violence and now is the time to "be bold" in enacting gun reform. Giffords was speaking as an unannounced witness at a hearing of the Senate Judiciary Committee, which has been responsible for drafting any measures to amend the nation's gun laws.
