Flooding Hits Northern India

Heavy monsoon rains have inundated the already burgeoning River Ganges and River Yamuna in northern India, leading to severe flooding in residential areas. Various villages were flooded and more than 1,000 people were affected, as their houses became submerged in water. Many areas were on high alert on Monday (August 12), after the rivers were on the verge of rising above the danger mark.
