First Documentary Wins Venice Film Festival in Event's 70th Year

In its 70th year the Venice film festival came to an end with a first. The first documentary ever to win the world's oldest film festival was crowned at the weekend. "Sacro GRA" by Gianfranco Rosi won the prestigious Golden Lion award for best film. It tells the story of a dozen characters living along the ring road around Rome - its name a pun on the ring road's name - Italian for Holy Grail. Rosi said that with the award came a sense of responsibility.
