Endangered Peccaries Born at San Diego Zoo

These are the newest members of the peccary family at San Diego Zoo. The trio are Chacoan peccaries, a species of wild pigs native to the dry Chacoan region of South America. Known for their thick, dark hair and round snouts, they are the largest of the three living species of peccaries today. This behavior is known as frisky hopping and it's how young peccaries play and socialize.
