Holders Czech Republic made it through to the quarter-finals of the Davis Cup on Sunday (February 3) when Tomas Berdych beat Stanislas Wawrinka in four sets in Geneva. On Saturday, the pair, along with Lukas Rosol and Marco Chiudinelli, had been involved in the longest Davis Cup match in history, their doubles encounter stretching to seven hours and one minute. Their singles meeting lasted a far tamer three hours, Berdych eventually winning 6-3, 6-4, 3-6, 7-6.
