An Exhibition on the Queen's Coronation Opens

The Queen's coronation was aired live worldwide in black and white on June 2, 1953, but now Buckingham Palace, as part of the Queen's 60th anniversary on the throne, is showing an exhibition of memorabilia from the event in all its colour. The Queen's coronation dress with the 6.5 metre long purple Robe of Estate is the centrepiece of the exhibition, curated by Caroline de Guitat.
