Barney Frank on Pete Buttigieg: A sign that prejudice is diminishing

30 years ago, coming out as a gay politician had a much different effect. Former Congressman Barney Frank told the Washington Post that when "he decided to tell then-House Speaker Tip O'Neill, O'Neill told Frank he was 'sorry to hear it,'" because O'Neill thought Frank could have become Speaker of the House if not for that. Fast-forward to today, and we're seeing an openly gay candidate rising in the polls for the Democratic presidential nomination.
