With New Orleans Saints training camp just around the corner, quarterback Jameis Winston appears to be getting ready the only way he knows how: with another strange workout.

Winston was caught on camera again conducting yet another bizarre offseason drill. This time, the workout involved a towel and a dog.

The Saints quarterback appeared to be working on his mobility in his latest viral drill. He scrambled around, evading an eager dog, and occasionally flung out the towel he was holding in his throwing hand. Each time, Winston followed through, as if he was throwing a football.

This is far from the first time that one of Winston’s workouts have gone viral. Dating back to his early days in the NFL, the quarterback has become infamous for his pregame antics.

Saints fans will be fine with Winston and his towel drill, so long as he enters the 2021 season ready to perform. When Drew Brees retired, the 27-year-old figured to be next in line to take over the starting job. However, a recent report indicated that Taysom Hill will may actually be just ahead of Winston in the quarterback competition thus far.

Winston saw time in just four regular season games last year, completing seven of his 11 passes for 75 yards. The last time he got a major opportunity at quarterback came during the 2019 campaign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That year was filled with highs and lows for the former Heisman Trophy winner as he threw for a league-high 5,106 yards and 33 touchdowns, but also led the NFL with 30 interceptions.

A year behind Brees might’ve given Winston time to pick up some valuable tools that will help him succeed as a pro. If that’s the case, the Saints will expect big things from him this fall, even if he doesn’t end up as the Week 1 starter.
