Veterinarian-Approved Pet Care Kits at Target Are Total Lifesavers

Just like people, sometimes pets get sick out of nowhere. It can happen at times like when you aren't able to get them in to see the vet (like when the office is closed) or when you are traveling. Veterinarian Adam Christman shared a video on April 3rd introducing us to some care kits that you can find at Target, and they are lifesavers for a couple of common dog issues!

My Simple Pet Lab has care kits that can be found at Target for two ailments most dogs suffer from at one time or another: ear infections and diarrhea. Both kits get relief started fast for your pets until you're able to see your veterinarian, and they are both inexpensive to purchase! Listen in as the doc tells us more about each of the kits.

I'll definitely be making a Target run to purchase these so that I have them on hand just in case! What I thought was cool about these kits is that you can register the products to keep your vet in the loop with the care you're providing. They also include next steps, so if you're a new pet parent or haven't dealt with one of these issues before, you'll have the knowledge of what to do to get your pup the care they need.

Dr. Christman's commenters were excited about the kits. @Tess said, "Those are freaking awesome kits!!! I’m about to buy some just to keep on hand for emergencies!" @Penny said, "These are great! They need a first aid kit for them too." and the doc replied back that they do have one. But you don't need to purchase an expensive first aid kit - you can make your own!

In fact, it was Dr. Christman who shared a video about putting together a first aid kit with supplies from the Dollar Tree - all for just $15! He shared all the basics that you'll need including a container to put everything in as well as plastic baggies to put each item in, medical records, and anything else that can get wet in severe weather. From tweezers for ticks to an extra collar and leash just in case, you can get it all at Dollar Tree. A card full of general first aid treatments could be helpful, and don't forget to include a water bottle or two as one commenter suggested. If you take your dog everywhere that you go, it might be worth making two kits: one for the car and one for your home.

If DIYing isn't your thing, there are many different pet first aid kits online that have everything that you'll need (but may cost more.) However you choose to get one, do it now and have it on hand! It could be the difference between life and death for your fur baby.
