For business owner, content creator, and horse rider Paige Lorenze, running a lucrative business from the suburbs feels like going back home and moving forward all at the same time. Her upbringing in a cozy Connecticut town and the Vermont mountains is what inspired her successful brand, Dairy Boy. When she left New York City in her ‘20s for a slower lifestyle in the outdoors, it turned heads in a cityridden influencer culture. Paige was working hard to build a brand for herself and documenting it online through platforms like Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. But when she realized what she loved and longed for was closer to home, she packed her bags for Connecticut and changed her surroundings. And her online content went with her.

But instead of losing viewers, she charmed thousands more. While she still makes trips to the city for work and play, her audience finds something relatable in a video or photo of Paige working in her barn, swinging by the local market, and cooking homemade meals and sharing recipes. But instead of the total Hallmark movie trope where a successful woman only leaves the city for her small-town beau, Paige is reminding girls to write their own scripts.

“I built a strong business in New York and then I brought it with me here,” Paige explained. “You don’t need a husband or a man or a family to move to the suburbs, you just need yourself. I think we’ve gotten into this world of ‘If you didn’t move to Manhattan or LA to work in corporate then you failed.’ Or, ‘If you didn’t leave your hometown then you failed’ and that’s so not true. If you want to live slower there are so many places outside of the city where you can live a very fulfilling life.”

And while social media plays a key role in her job, she's creating an authentic space that inspires people instead of dragging them down. Her line Dairy Boy can be seen all over social media and probably any town or city you walk through. Trucker hats, apparel, and home goods fill the website and almost always sell out. With the brand’s popularity growing, it’s sure to be a very Dairy Boy Christmas for a lot of folks this year.
