When you look at the chip and dip aisle, you’re likely greeted by the same familiar faces; Tostitos, Pace, On the Border, and likely a private label brand from the store you’re shopping at. While you might be overloaded with jarred queso options at the store, there’s only one queso recipe so iconic you probably know it by heart. And, if you don’t, that’s OK because it’s printed right on the packaging itself.  We’re, of course, talking about the famous two-ingredient Velveeta and Ro*Tel queso dip.

Everyone has likely made the queso—which combines a loaf of Velveeta with a can of Ro*Tel’s Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies—at least once. Even “Today” host Jenna Bush Hager and Kelly Clarkson love it.

Now, for the first time ever, you’ll be able to buy the famous queso pre-made, as Velveeta is launching a new line of ready-to-eat queso.

Velveeta Launches First-Ever Jarred Queso

Velveeta is setting off into a new grocery sector with the launch of its jarred queso. The new innovation comes in three flavors: Queso Con Salsa, Queso Blanco, and Jalapeño. Queso Con Salsa seems to be the closest to the OG queso recipe, while Jalapeño has more of a kick and Queso Blanco is a take on the creamy white queso you see at restaurants.

Velveeta currently sells loaves of Queso Blanco and Mexican with Jalapeno Peppers, so the quesos will likely take on those flavors alongside some additional ingredients. While Velveeta’s Queso bears no mention of Ro*Tel, we’d assume the jarred products will still resemble the OG recipe in taste.

In addition to the three all-new queso products, Velveeta is also releasing three new varieties of its popular Shells & Cheese boxed macaroni and cheese.

Velveeta Introduces 3 New Shells & Cheese Products

First, Velveeta is adding two new flavors to its lineup for the first time in 12 years—Pizza and Buffalo. These two additions will join the Shells & Cheese flavor portfolio, which currently includes Broccoli, Queso Blanco, and Bacon varieties. The savory pizza- and spicy Buffalo-flavored mac and cheese are sure to add a little fun to your go-to semi-homemade dinner.

In addition to the new flavors, Velveeta is now making its very first gluten-free Shells & Cheese product. The boxed mac and cheese is made with brown rice and corn pasta, so those with gluten allergies and intolerances can finally indulge in Velveeta’s beloved, ooey-gooey dinner.

All six new products will begin rolling out to retailers nationwide in May—so keep an eye on shelves. We’re pretty sure that jarred Velveeta queso just made our potluck lives that much easier this summer—unless, of course, someone asks you for the recipe.
