That was enough for Viking softball coach Mickey Moody.

“After that, we just tried to throw away from her the rest of the day,” Moody said. “I think she’s hitting .800 against me in four years.”

The avoidance strategy worked for Dundee as the Vikings pulled off a 9-6, 16-4 sweep of their rival.

“We hit the ball probably the best we’ve hit it all year,” Moody said. “We hit the ball hard all night. The girls had really a good approach.”

Shay VanZandt and Kaylee Imo carried the biggest bats for the Vikings. Each had five hits with VanZandt driving in six runs and Imo five.

Imo was the winning pitcher in the first game.

Kiernan Brown also joined the five-hit club with Kennedy Irwin and Natalie Rath chipping in four apiece.

Lauren Doane tossed a three-hitter in in the second game as Dundee improved to 11-6.
