Vanderbilt baseball live score updates vs. LSU: Commodores face Tigers in SEC series
The last time Vanderbilt baseball faced LSU ended in disaster for the Commodores.
The Tigers swept the Commodores during the final series of the regular season at Hawkins Field in 2022, resulting in Vanderbilt's first losing SEC season in over a decade.
But the Commodores (23-7, 6-4 SEC) had won eight of their last nine series against LSU before that, dating back to 2006. That includes four series at Alex Box Stadium in Baton Rouge and a three-game sweep there in 2021.

The two teams did not face each other a year ago, as the Tigers (21-10, 3-7) won a national championship. LSU has gotten off to a rough start to its 2024 season, having lost its last four games. The Tigers also lost their first home SEC series of the season to Florida.
Vanderbilt will be looking to end a slump of its own, as the Commodores are 2-11 in their last 13 road games. Vanderbilt's last road series win was over a year ago, when it swept Mississippi State in March 2023.

Thursday: Vanderbilt gave up nine runs across the third and fourth innings in a 10-6 loss to open the series. The Commodores did make it a close game in the middle innings as they tagged LSU starter Luke Holman for six runs in the fifth and sixth innings after he retired the first 13 batters he faced. The bottom of the order had the most production as Jayden Davis drove in two runs and Jonathan Vastine drove in three.
Nine of the 10 runs were charged to starter Greysen Carter. Sam Hliboki, David Horn and Levi Huesman combined for 4⅓ innings of relief, allowing one unearned run with two walks and five strikeouts.
