Vanderbilt baseball live score updates vs. Gonzaga in Commodores' weekend series
Vanderbilt baseball had a roller-coaster first week of the season. The Commodores blew three leads of three runs or more, although they still won the first of those games on a walk-off against FAU on opening day.
Vanderbilt also gave up seven runs in an inning against Dayton in an 8-5 loss Tuesday, then beat Eastern Kentucky, 5-3, on Wednesday. The only game that hasn't been close was the 11-1 win over FAU in Sunday's series finale.
Back at Hawkins Field, the Commodores (3-2) will host Gonzaga (0-3) for a weekend series. The Bulldogs opened up their season by getting swept by UCLA. After that series, Gonzaga adjusted its weekend rotation, only keeping its Friday starter in place.

According to Vanderbilt's game notes, Carter Holton will return to his previous role at the front of the rotation after pitching out of the bullpen against FAU. Holton is coming back from an injury suffered at the end of the 2023 season.
